Sustainability Policy Statement

Roddy New Homes LTD and its subsidiaries are committed to promoting sustainability in all aspects of our operations, with a focus on reducing our environmental impact, improving the health and wellbeing of our residents, and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Objectives

The objectives of this policy are to:

• Reduce our carbon footprint by implementing energy-efficient measures in our buildings and Construction operations.

• Promote sustainable transport options for our Staff, Subcontractors and Visitors.

• Promote sustainable water use, including the reduction of water consumption and the responsible management of wastewater.

• Reduce waste and promote recycling, including the responsible disposal of hazardous waste.

• Enhance the biodiversity of our properties, including the provision of green spaces and the promotion of wildlife habitats.

• Promote the health and wellbeing of our Staff through the provision of safe, healthy work sites and work environments.

• Collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and contribute to the local economy.

 

Implementation

We will implement this policy by:

• Ensuring that sustainability considerations are integrated into all aspects of our decision-making processes, including property development, maintenance, and management.

• Identifying and implementing energy-efficient measures, such as insulation, renewable energy, and energy-efficient appliances and remove reliance on fossil fuel heating systems.

• Encouraging sustainable transport options, such as cycling, walking, public transport, and electric vehicle charging points.

• Promoting responsible water use through the installation of water-saving devices, rainwater harvesting, and the management of wastewater. • Reducing waste and promoting recycling through the provision of recycling facilities and the responsible disposal of hazardous waste.

• Enhancing biodiversity through the provision of green spaces, wildlife habitats, and the promotion of sustainable land use practices.

• Promoting the health and wellbeing of our customer through the provision of safe, healthy, and comfortable homes, including the use of non-toxic materials.

• Collaborating with local communities and stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and contribute to the local economy.

 

Monitoring and Review

We will monitor and review our sustainability performance regularly, including the implementation of this policy and the achievement of our sustainability objectives.

We will communicate our progress to our staff, and stakeholders and end users and seek feedback to improve our sustainability performance.
